Design: Sven Markelius

Sven Markelius was one of the most famous architects in Sweden during the 20th century. In 1952, when ”Pythagoras” was created, he worked with Le Corbusier, Oscar Niemeyer and Bengt Lindroos among others in an architectural group designing the UN-buildings in New York. Sven’s task was to design the ECO-SOC session hall for economical and social issues. This pattern is hand printed and one of the most complicated prints we do as we use eighteen screens in double repeats. Therefore it is our most exclusive textile.

”Pythagoras” is printed on 100% pure linen in two colour combinations, red and blue, and also on an exclusive Trevira CS velvet quality in three colour combinations, where also a ”lion-yellow” variant has been taken out of our archive.
